Step-by-step instructions
- Prepare the Bottle: Cut a plastic bottle in half (ask an adult for help) and use the bottom half for your model.
- Add Rocks: Place a layer of small rocks at the bottom of the bottle to help with drainage.
- Add Soil: Fill the bottle with soil on top of the rocks, leaving some space at the top for planting.
- Plant Seeds: Sprinkle grass seeds evenly on the soil and gently press them in to ensure good contact with the soil.
- Add Water: Pour a small amount of water over the soil to moisten it without flooding the seeds.
- Cover and Secure: Place the top half of the bottle upside down on the bottom half and secure it with a rubber band and clear plastic wrap to create a greenhouse effect.
- Observe the Cycle: Place your model in a sunny spot and watch for condensation that forms on the inside of the bottle, mimicking the water cycle.
